The Home Stretch!

The Home Stretch!

Kayla Green—Hey everyone! I can’t believe I am writing my final post for the semester — time has really flown by, hasn’t it?! I just returned from Thanksgiving break and I must say I am so ready to finish these final 2 weeks and get a much-deserved longer break!

I mentioned in my last post that I was working on my new schedule — everything went really well with that and I got all the classes I wanted. I have a heavy schedule next semester, but I am really looking forward to it. I will be in 2 classes for my major, Intro to Digital Video and Audio and Newswriting, 1 class for my possible Graphic Design minor, 2D Design, and 2 gen eds, Spanish and Natural Disasters. Should be a lot of work but hopefully a lot of fun too.

Since I last wrote I have had a lot of success come my way — I got an internship and a job! The internship will be for next semester and it is through the Office of Marketing Communications at the college. It is a video internship, so I will be shooting and editing footage for events and promotional videos on campus, which is exactly what I love to do! I also get 3 credits for it, which is awesome! My job is through the Office of Community Development, and it is a marketing/media position as well. I get to help create posters and videos for events and programs the office is putting on. I am so excited for these new additions to my life to really take off!

A couple weekends ago a few friends and I escaped the campus for the day and went to Lewiston, NY, which is near where I live in Buffalo. We went to lunch and cute little shops with one of my friend’s mom and then hung out at her house. We even took a stop to my house on the way back since we were only 15 minutes away! It was nice for my college friends to see my house and my other life. I loved being able to spend the day with them doing something we don’t normally do!

With finals approaching, the stress is real but I am just trying to prioritize my time and stay organized. I know I will have 4 final papers as well as 1 final exam to complete in these next 2 weeks, and although that is overwhelming, I know that I can handle it. I have worked hard all semester and I am looking forward to seeing it all pay off.

Well, I guess that’s it for now! Here’s to hoping the holidays get here soon, and maybe even a little festive snow?

Until next time!

P.S. I am attaching a photo of my friends and I in Lewiston. Enjoy!
