Katelynn Groh—Today is the first day of the Spring semester here at Brockport, and I’m actually really excited. However, right now I am currently extremely bored because I am sitting my RA day desk hours from 9a-12p (currently 10:19a) and have absolutely nothing to work on since I don’t have class until 4p. And after a night of tossing and turning until 5am, its going to be a very long day. Nevertheless, I am very excited for this semester.
I am taking all gen eds to get them out of the way, with most of my classes on Tuesday/Thursday. I have one class MWF but not until 4p 😀 Except, I’m getting back into the gym and am planning on going at 6a everyday. Call me crazy, but it is the best time to go…especially now that everyone is back and working on their New Year Resolutions for the next 4 weeks or so. After that time, the bandwaggoners have dissipated and the true gym-rats remain.
That being said, if you’re looking to shed some pounds or just simply live a healthier lifestyle, try it for at least 3 weeks. It takes 21 days for something to become a habit, such as going to the gym. Therefore, after 3 weeks you’re more likely to stick to the new lifestyle you’ve created! This also works for people who want to improve their GPA after a rough first semester. Try going to the library to eliminate distractions that occur within your room/suite. You’d be surprised at how much you could accomplish by going to the library for just a few hours everyday.
These are just some things you can do to have an ever better semester…I know I’m making these changes myself! With all that said, I hope you guys have a wonderful first day of classes! ❤
