Alex Winslow—The Delta College program is a fun community to be a part of.
The thing that catches my attention first is the type of people I come into contact with. Everyone I have met is friendly and very smart. I also like how diverse the classes are. The professors are all smart and quirky. There have been many funny stories to this point.
There is a lot of work that we are expected to complete. After completing my freshman year I can see why we were given a lot of work. The professors teach in creative ways; for example, one had us design a play. Every class is discussion based. Everyone sits around the professor through each class. I have to say that even though there were a lot of assignments to complete, I really was prepared for the rest of college.
I did not anticipate that I would learn a lot about my time management, presentation skills, and communication skills. These lessons were taught through many different projects. My experience with the Delta College program has been a unique learning experience.
My favorite highlight so far has been the world conference. We had to do a project in a creative way to show we had understood the stories we had read. There was an interactive challenge where everyone could take part. They could fight a champion from one of stories. Also, we tried snacks from the era we studied from actual recipes.
