you snooze, you lose

Once you come to college one of your first thoughts will probably be FREEDOM!! yet that is not exactly the case! there are a lot of rules to follow such as dorm rules, attendance policies, and GPA requirements to remain enrolled. Keeping a good balance between hanging out with friends, studying, and sleeping can be quite difficult. Throughout your college career there will be times when you are sleep deprived and when your awakened by your alarm clock, all you want to do is throw it across the room and go back to sleep. Ideally, that sounds wonderful but sleeping through classes can be very dangerous to your GPA. Here at Brockport, if you fall below a 2.0 GPA then you are on academic probation. Once the GPA drops it then becomes very hard to bring it back up. Even if a professor does not take attendance that doesn’t mean that it is okay to press the snooze button and go back to sleep.   That is why time management is important, creating a schedule that allows you to get at least 7 hours of sleep will give you enough energy to get up, go to class, and remain alert.
